On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated as he rode in a motorcade through Dallas, Texas. Fifty years later, a look back, beginning with the news breaking on radio station KRLD and ending, early the next morning, with NBC's David Brinkley:

​​In July of 2014, Maryland and Washington DC noted the 150th anniversary of some notable skirmishes of the Civil War. Just two days after their victory at Monocacy, near Frederick, Confederate troops streamed through Montgomery County on their way to a clash with Union forces at Fort Stevens, just over the line in Washington. If you live near Georgia Ave in Silver Spring, they might have marched through your backyard.
